While we’re in Catalonia, I guess I have to make a mention of the famous universal studios park for the kiddies.
Port Adventura is a huge amusement and theme park situated one hour South of Barcelona and really is a must see for anyone who wants to see smiles on their kids faces.
The “Dragon Khan” is probably the most visited ride in this park and is popular because it is the biggest roller coaster in Europe, the screams alone coming from it scare the life out of me!
But for those of us who are averse to scaring ourselves to death, Port Adventura can still be a great day out. The Park offers some great live shows and has some rides that are a lot tamer. There’s a good selection of Cafes and Restaurants and there is no reason why you can’t enjoy a picnic if you wish to bring your own food to keep the costs down.
Enjoy a spectacular light and firework show at the end of the night, when you can wind down before taking the kids back for a good nights sleep.
